Dandelion Pulp

This work was created 100% out of dandelion flowers and stems with no added fillers to create an installation on the window as well as sheets of paper on the sill. The circles of pulp created a shadow on the floor that changed throughout the day. The work was affected by the weather, the same way dandelion flowers open when the sun is out and close when it goes down.

Collecting, cooking and pulping the dandelions was a slow meditative process that allowed time for reflection. As I cooked the flowers, the pot filled with a beautiful yellow-ish brown tea. Unfortunately,  the dandelions were collected from an area that sprayed for "weeds" so the tea was used as a dye instead of for consumption; as a way to honor all that the plant offered.
